I love summer TV. It's one of my favourite times of the year. Fall TV is officially in production and all the networks are trotting out their most ambitious offerings. This season, HBO's Euphoria boasts plenty of male body parts and Stranger Things delivers on the big emotional moments.
Here's what I'm loving on TV this summer 2019.
1. Killing Eve
Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer return for season 2 of one of BBC America’s most buzzed about shows, Killing Eve. Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer’s talent cannot be overstated–not even in this phenomenal second season of the spy thriller that sees Eve and Villanelle explore one another's uncrackable psyches.
2. Euphoria
Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Hunter Schafer star in HBO’s latest teen drama about a girl, Rue, who has just been released from a drug treatment centre. There was much ado about the abundance of a certain body part in the series, but if you’re a fan of shows like Skins, Misfits, and the O.C, you’re really going to enjoy Euphoria.
3. Stranger Things
Stranger Things returned to Netflix July 4 for its third season and, guys, it’s incredible. It’s bigger, badder, and SADDER than ever with big implications for season 4. If you’ve followed Stranger Things from the beginning, season 3 won’t disappoint.
4. Handmaid’s Tale
I am of the opinion that everybody should be watching Handmaid’s Tale. It’s poignant, moving, and truly ominous. As usual, Elisabeth Moss shines as June and there are already plenty of heart-stopping moments that will leave you absolutely terrified and, quite frankly SHOOK.
5. Big Little Lies
Meryl Streep joins Big Little Lies in the show’s second season and, let me tell you, she’s a treat. The veteran actress appears in the new season of the HBO show as Mary Louis Wright, Perry’s mom and a thorn in basically everyone’s side.
