Another week, another look back at some of the best and worst music releases. This week was a particularly busy one but, not to worry, I've got you covered.
Blink 182 - San Diego (6.5/10)
Great that the boys are back. Solid chorus on this one. Not enough happening elsewhere in the song to support such a strong chorus.
Rihanna - Sledgehammer (8.5/10)
Love this one. Rihanna's vocals sound great. Sonically, the release is commercially sound and radio ready.
Imagine Dragons, Lil' Wayne, Wiz Khalifa with Logic and Ty Dolla $ign X Ambassadors - Sucker For Pain (7/10)
Great commercial release. Would have drooped Wiz from this particular exercise. Imagine Dragons are stand outs on this one. Not sure if all the features are necessary.
Mabel - Thinking Of You (9/10)
Definitely my favourite of the week. Really strong 90s sensibilities. It's 90s r&b perfection.
The Veronicas - In My Head (3/10)
It's a no from me.
Fergie - M.I.L.F.$ (4/10)
Visuals are great but likely to distract from the fact that the song isn't. Fergie isn't a vocalist so that bit where she acts like she is...is not ideal.
Steve G Lover ft. Childish Gambino - No Hookah (8.5/10)
Nice little hype track from the Glover brothers. Super bouncy and catchy. Donald has always been a proficient rapper and he and Steve play off of each other quite nicely. Gosh, this is good.
