This Week's New Music: Rated

It’s been a while but I’m back at it again with the blink-and-you’ll miss it reviews of this week’s latest releases.

twenty one pilots - “Heathens” (8/10)

Very much in the spirit of classic twenty one pilots. It’s a small bop if I ever heard one. Great chorus.

Fall Out Boy - “Ghostbusters (I’m Not Afraid) (6.5/10)

Very “Fall Out Boy”. Sonically it’s quite cool. Patrick Stump’s vocals sound incredible. Missy Elliot should have probably sat this one out. Her verse is quite disjointed, unfortunately.

Neiked - Sexual (9.5)

Great chorus, great bass line. It’s my song of the week.

Dizzee Rascal and Calvin Harris - “Hype” (4.5/10)

After Rihanna and Calvin’s late spring flop of a track, “This Is What You Came For”, Calvin’s newest collab, “Hype”, is clearly vying for some sort of summer dominance. While it is fairly inoffensive enough, there isn’t anything here that will really blow you away.

Palmistry - “Paigon” (8.5/10)

Fucking brilliant.
