Birthday shenanigans

Here's how my husband and I celebrated his birthday this year...

My husband's birthday is at the start of November. It usually stresses me out because it's so close to Christmas. I had the good sense to be born in June, so as not to inconvenience my future friends and family.

This is hubby's second year celebrating his birthday in Dublin, so we had a bit more knowledge of the city when we went out this year.

In keeping with our London roots, we had breakfast at Wetherspoons in Blanchardstown. A full Irish, of course. We wanted to do something fun and lowkey in the daytime so we spent time at an arcade and got competitive bowling and playing pool.

For food and drinks we checked out a bunch places we'd never been to before.

The Jar
We had pre-dinner drinks at a cool spot called The Jar .The drinks were pretty averagely priced for Dublin cocktails. The interiors were great as well.

Camden Exchange
For dinner, we ate at Camden Exchange. The vibe was cool buut, it felt a bit sports barish which wasn't really what we were going for. The food was reasonably priced and really delicious.

The Dean
After dinner, we spent some time at The Dean, which we're officially obsessed with. It was gorgeous inside and the rooftop bar, Sophie's, had a really stunning view of the city. Even though we live in Dublin, we're definitely planning a weekend stay at The Dean.

Balfes at The Westbury Hotel
To end the night we had a few drinks at Balfes, the bar in The Westbury Hotel. It was gorgeous inside and the staff were friendly and helpful. The drinks are pricey though, so it's definitely a "treat yo self" night out. Of course, I had to have the staff bring out a birthday treat for my guy.

If you're ever in Dublin and looking to have a fun lowkey night out, definitely check out any of these places. You might have a lighter pocket by the end of the night, but you'll have a brilliant evening.
