Turning old photos into a shadowbox display

So, this is a super easy project I've been wanting to do for a while. I wanted to think of more creative ways to display photos with nice memories around my space so I had a look around for something I could possibly do with a shadowbox.

It's super easy, super cheap, and a very cute way to surround yourself with good memories.

What you'll need

Cutting board
Exacto knife (or scissors)
Photos
Shadowbox

Steps

Step 1:
Once you have all of your materials, figure out which dimensions the photos will need to be in order to fit properly into the shadowbox. I went with 70mm x 60mm and lined them up in InDesign so they made a horizontal line across a 250 mm x 200mm work page.

Step 2:
I used my colour printer and photo paper to print off the pictures I wanted to use. Try to print them in high quality and be careful of any smudging that may occur.

Step 3:
Carefully, I measured out where to cut the photo paper so that the pictures would fit perfectly into the frame like a film strip. If you're not super confident with an exacto knife, I would recommend measuring out and cutting with scissors. I prefer an exacto knife because it's more precise.

Steps 4:
Once you've cut it filmstrip style, just pot it into the frame, place the back on, and admire your work. You can now display it anywhere you want!
