6 Thoughts On Views

Drake - Views
So with a big album drop like Views I would normally do a full review and give the record a letter rating. As I'm a tad bit uninspired by Views and everyone has already given it the deep dive it truly deserves, I thought I would just share 6 feelings I had about this record.

1. 20 songs is too many.
There are so many songs I would have cut from this album (starting with 'Faithful'). A tight 12 tracks would have worked. In fact, I think Drake would have even struggled to find 12 very good songs to put on this record.

2. Drake and Rihanna should do a collab album
They shine together. There is no denying it. "Too Good" is one of the album's standouts.

3. The album feels rather disjointed.
Don't get me wrong, I love Drake. But this album lacks focus or innovation. It's lazy at times and says a whole lot without really saying anything. There are styles I wish he would explore more (One Dance, Feel No Ways, With You) and styles I wish he wouldn't explore at all (Faithful).

4. Drakes lyrics are modern poetry.
Whether or not this album puts Drake's considerable talents to use as much as it could have, there is no denying that Drake is one of the only rappers quite this adept at storytelling. He's rather impressive when you take a moment to realize the kind of set building he does for every single track.

5. It's very quotable.
Views wouldn't be a Drake album without a laundry list of quotables for your twitter bio. One of my faves? "Why you got to fight with me at Cheesecake! You know I like to go there." -Child's Play

6. Not enough bangers
I guess, at this point, it's safe to say that Drake has semi-retired from the banger business which is a shame because he's quite good at them. The closest thing to a banger on this record is probably "One Dance" but even that is pretty even keeled.

Top 5 from Views (In no particular order)
