If you’re anything like me, the news that Willow Smith covered King Krule’s ‘Easy Easy’ came as a massive shocker. It’s obvious that she’s the alterna-kid we all wanted to be in the 10th grade but for some reason finding out via Spin Magazine that she had covered the indie favourite jarred me.
I honestly don’t know what I was expecting when I clicked through to the song. But to say I was pleasantly surprised is a huge understatement. This cover is really well done. Willow, or er...Wilough’s voice is dark and husky but feminine at the same time. A quick perusal of her soundcloud proves that Will and Jada’s youngest is actually an extremely talented singer/songwriter.
I don’t have loads to say about it mainly because it’s essentially a perfect cover. In other news: Sam Smith covered Fast Car. Yawn x1000.
