Mini Review: HAIM

HAIM (as in time) are a girl band that I am coming on to really late in the game. The group is comprised of three sisters (Danielle, Alana, and Este Haim) who are native Los Angelinos. Their sound is a mix a stuttering drum beats and whispy vocals. Think Grimes meets Lykke Li meets Taylor Dayne.

Their distinctly 80s aesthetic challenges how much it is humanly possible to like a band that sounds like the alternate soundtrack to Pretty in Pink or Ghost. HAIM's harmonies are on point and crazy addictive and if they can do anything, it's put together a sweet melody.

The girl's look like they're going to be big in the indie/alt scene with their cool girl 'tudes, black ray bans, and long wavy hair. While there is no word on a full length album, when it does drop, it will be big. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for an LP but, while we wait, why not download their EP Forever  from their website.
